Kyoto from Diptyque – Perfume Review
Kyoto is a limited edition EdT released by Diptyque in 2021 as part of its “Grand Tour” 6oth Birthday celebration collection. The perfumer is Alexandra Carlin.
I love a good rose perfume, but I have a lot of them. Too many, in fact. Last year I bought Eau Capitale anyway, and while it’s charming, I rarely wear it because I just have too many great perfumes to choose from. In the past year, I’ve become quite satisfied with what I have (aside from the excess of it all), and rather disinterested in things that are new. The volume and pace of new perfume releases has me jaded and skeptical. I’ll admit that I was only interested in Kyoto because the notes list mentions beetroot.
LMB from Chris Rusak Perfume
LMB (Leaves My Body) is the new parfum extrait released by Chris Rusak in October, 2021. It was announced as “AEOOJ extrait,” which refers to a previous release which was called After Every Ounce of Joy (Leaves My Body), commonly referred to as AEOOJ.
Jurassic Flower from Fūm Fragrances – Fragrance Review
It’s been a while since I was moved by a fragrance description. But when I saw the photos on Instagram of magnolia flowers with their waxy leaves and curly carpels and a caption that promised “a unique twist on magnolia,” it grabbed me by the heartstrings and I pretty much had to try Jurassic Flower by Fūm Fragrances. Maybe it’s the inability to travel right now, or even be outside really, that filled me with a longing for this magnolia from the sea.
Malik Al Taif from Areej Le Doré – A Love Story
As 2018 comes to a close, I feel compelled to write about my most-worn fragrance of the year, Malik Al Taif. I’m not going to “review” it, because I have such strong feelings for this particular perfume. I’m just going to share my experience wearing it, and describe how my senses perceive it.
