GEMINI MYTH
Castor and Pollux were twin brothers and demigods. Together, they were known as the Dioscuri. They were helpers of mankind and patrons of sailors, to whom they appeared as St. Elmo’s Fire. Among their adventures were the Calydonian Boar Hunt, the Quest for the Golden Fleece, and rescuing their sister, Helen of Troy, from Theseus.
In the story of Gemini, Castor is mortal and Pollux is immortal. During a feud with their cousins Lycenaus and Idas, Castor is killed with a spear. In order to remain together, Pollux asks Zeus if he can share his immortality with his twin. Zeus placed them both in the sky as the two brightest stars in the constellation of Gemini.
GEMINI FRAGRANCE
Gemini the fragrance is green, clean, and crisp. It is built around a cyclamen accord, which has a fresh, sweet smell. It is similar to lily of the valley, but lighter, sweeter, and less floral. It smells “watery”, translucent, and very fresh. It also has a bit of calone, which adds a hint of melon rind scent along with more “clean” and “watery” characteristics. The base is a crisp vetiver.
A fresh, clean fragrance is a good match for Gemini, as it will be versatile, easy-going, and approachable. The Demeter Gemini fragrance is perfectly unisex and would be great for layering.
